one-of-a-kind.

My pieces aren't for everyone.  They are for that special woman who does not mind
calling attention to herself and telling the world a little bit about herself through
her clothing and jewelry.  You might not want to yell, "Notice me!" in a crowded room,
but this jewelry will be glad to do it for you!

Mazel Tov! Jewelry Treasures™

"Mazel tov!" is a Yiddish expression, and Hebrew too, for that matter.  While it literally
means "luck good" ("good luck" for English speakers!), what it really means is
"congratulations!" So I could say to you, "Mazel tov for having found my website!" but
I wouldn't want to say, "Mazel tov trying to chose just one design!"  Instead, I'd have to
say, "Good luck on that ~ you're going to need it!"  If you've read this far, you probably
are one of those women who likes to let the world know who you are ~ or else you are in
love with one of those women!

The Designer

My name is Cyndi Lavin, and I design and create Mazel Tov! Jewelry Treasures.  I make
many of the glass beads used in my pieces, which allows me to create in exactly the colors,
textures, and sizes that I want.

Working with glass in a flame (called lampwork) is mesmerizing business.  Before you
know it, you've got a stack of beads and no dinner on the table.  But thankfully, my
family is very patient ~ and very used to this.  They have always known that I have a
tendency to overdo things a bit.  I take up running...and end up marathoning.  I go to
color my hair...and end up with colors not normally found in nature.  My running buds
and I decide to go on a little adventure...and we end up running across the Grand Canyon.
Just a little obsessive, I guess.  But I digress.

Life can be fun.  Life can be a challenge.  But life is always a gift.  Some artists create
from their pain, but I have always worked from my joy.  And joy is certainly one of the
most precious gifts anyone can receive in life.  My  joy comes not from my circumstances,
although I will be the first to admit that I have been undeservedly blessed, but from my
faith.  While you will certainly see themes of faith running through my work, I do not
consider my pieces to be religious jewelry.  They are not intended to be the embodiment
of any spiritual forces, but instead are simply a reflection of my love for my Creator.
